Manufacturer Recommendation / AEM Status
The current C2Dx maintenance manual specifies emptying and cleaning TP700/TP700C pumps monthly, changing the water monthly, and performing preventive maintenance at least annually. Frequency may be increased based on use, and annual maintenance is for qualified personnel.
Stryker states that ownership and support of the Gaymar T/Pump line transferred to C2Dx. The current C2Dx maintenance manual specifically covers TP700 and TP700C. Use the exact applicable legacy manual for TP600 units; do not assume that TP700/TP700C internal, connector, alarm, thermostat, or adjustment instructions are identical.
The published TP600/TP700 family specifications are a 10-42 °C (50-107 °F) temperature range, ±1 °C (±2 °F) accuracy, and 9 gallons per hour minimum flow. Apply these only when the unit label and applicable manual confirm them. Any change to manufacturer-listed activities or intervals belongs under the facility's approved AEM program, risk assessment, maintenance history, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Step-by-Step PM Procedure
1. Verify Identification and Applicability
Action: Record asset tag, serial number, exact TP600/TP700/TP700C model, connector type, rating, accessories, and service history. Confirm that the manual and test setup apply to that exact configuration.
Expected outcome: The unit matches CMMS and the correct model-specific procedure is available.
2. Review History
Action: Review leaks, flow warnings, temperature complaints, overheating, pad/hose damage, safety failures, cleaning history, and open repairs.
Expected outcome: Known faults are included in the test plan.
3. Prepare Safely
Action: Remove from patient use, disconnect accessories as directed, switch off, unplug, cool, and drain before cleaning or service access. Keep water away from electrical components and test equipment.
Expected outcome: The pump is safely isolated and prepared for maintenance.
4. Inspect Housing and Power Components
Action: Inspect housing, handle, feet, fasteners, labels, openings, cord, plug, earth pin, insulation, and strain relief. Inspect the membrane panel for cuts, cracks, lifting, liquid intrusion, damaged keys, or illegible indicators.
Expected outcome: External mechanical and electrical components are intact and safe.
5. Inspect Reservoir and Water Circuit
Action: Inspect fill cap/seal, reservoir, level markings, accessible tubing, fittings, and drain path for contamination, deposits, discoloration, deformation, looseness, or leakage.
Expected outcome: The reservoir and accessible circuit are clean, intact, sealed, and leak-free.
6. Inspect Hoses, Connectors, O-Rings, and Pads
Action: Check hoses and reusable pads for cuts, kinks, hardening, tears, abrasion, contamination, and leaks. Check connectors for cracks, secure attachment, free movement, and required O-rings. Confirm connector compatibility.
Expected outcome: Accessories are compatible, complete, undamaged, and leak-free.
7. Perform Monthly Cleaning and Water Change
Action: When due, empty and clean using the exact manufacturer-listed solution, concentration, circulation time, draining, rinsing, and drying instructions. Replace water with the manufacturer-specified water. Do not substitute chemicals or improvise descaling.
Expected outcome: Cleaning and water change are complete without contamination or retained solution.
8. Fill, Prime, and Check Controls
Action: Connect the correct test circuit, fill to the proper level, and prime per the manual. Power from a grounded supply. Check startup, circulation, display/indicators, keypad, temperature selection, timer, and setpoint lock where equipped.
Expected outcome: The pump starts, primes, circulates, and accepts controls without an active fault.
9. Measure Flow and Test Flow Warning
Action: Measure stabilized flow with the TPT9 or approved calibrated equivalent using the exact model setup. Record gallons per hour. Test the flow warning only by the manual's safe method; do not improvise a heated blocked-flow test.
Expected outcome: Flow is at least 9 gallons per hour where the published family specification applies, and the warning passes.
10. Verify Operating Temperature
Action: Test required settings using the specified water volume, connector arrangement, stabilization period, and TPT9/Test Probe setup. Record each setpoint, displayed value, independent temperature, and difference.
Expected outcome: Required points within the published 10-42 °C range meet ±1 °C accuracy unless the exact model manual specifies another service criterion.
11. Test Backup-Limit Protection
Action: Qualified personnel shall perform the backup-limit thermostat/secondary overtemperature test exactly as written for the model. Do not defeat protection or invent a trip-temperature test. Restore all connections and settings.
Expected outcome: Backup-limit protection operates and restores as specified without uncontrolled heating.
12. Complete Qualified Internal Inspection
Action: When required, unplug and drain before cover removal. Inspect wiring, grounding, terminals, tubing, clamps, pump/motor, manifold, heater area, reservoir, and mounts for looseness, overheating, corrosion, deposits, abrasion, or leakage. Reassemble completely before powered testing.
Expected outcome: Internal components and earth connections are secure, dry, undamaged, and correctly reassembled.
13. Check for Water Leakage
Action: With the circuit filled and circulating, inspect the cap, enclosure, reservoir, connectors, hoses, fittings, and pad throughout testing. Stop immediately if water approaches electrical components.
Expected outcome: No seepage, leakage, or unexplained water loss occurs.
14. Perform Electrical Safety Testing
Action: Perform protective-earth and leakage-current tests using the model manual and facility policy. For TP700/TP700C, compare with the current manual limits of 0.5 Ω maximum and 100 µA maximum. For TP600, use the exact legacy manual and facility criteria.
Expected outcome: Electrical-safety measurements meet applicable limits.
15. Final Verification
Action: Confirm stable circulation and temperature control, normal indicators, no warning, abnormal sound, odor, or leak. Restore water level, cap, settings, timer, lock, connectors, cord, and accessories. Clean, dry, and document the unit.
Expected outcome: The system is correctly configured and ready for service.
Electrical Safety Testing
For TP700/TP700C, the current C2Dx maintenance manual specifies 0.5 Ω maximum ground resistance and 100 µA maximum leakage current. For TP600, use the exact applicable legacy model/revision manual. Facility criteria may be more restrictive.
