4. Remove Nonessential External Peripherals
Disconnect nonessential externally connected accessories such as removable USB devices or other optional peripherals when safe to do so.

Expected outcome: Controls operate normally with nonessential peripherals removed. If so, reconnect accessories individually to identify the interfering device.
5. Attempt Normal Navigation
Use another available control method if possible. For example, determine whether physical keys work when touch input does not, or vice versa.
Do not use hidden or unauthorized service menus.
Expected outcome: At least one control method operates predictably, helping isolate the problem to a specific input device.
6. Perform a Controlled Restart
If the system is not actively supporting a patient and normal controls permit it, perform a standard shutdown and restart.
If the interface is completely frozen, follow approved manufacturer guidance for a nonresponsive unit rather than repeatedly cycling power.
Expected outcome: The MAC 7 completes startup and all controls respond consistently. If so, continue to verification.
7. Check for Intermittent Behavior
