1. Protect Patient Care and Confirm the Battery Complaint

Determine whether the battery is not detected, will not charge, charges incompletely, or discharges more quickly than expected.

Expected outcome: The battery symptom is clearly identified under safe conditions. If the battery subsequently charges and operates normally after an external cause is corrected, troubleshooting can stop after verification.

2. Inspect the System and Power Components

Inspect accessible battery areas, external power supply, cords, docking contacts, and connectors for contamination, damage, looseness, overheating, or liquid intrusion.

Do not continue using a battery or power component that is swollen, physically damaged, excessively hot, or otherwise unsafe.
