1. Protect the Patient

Determine which external power accessory was being used and whether the pump failed to recognize it, failed to remain powered, or changed unexpectedly to internal batteries.

3. Inspect the External Power Accessory

4. Verify the AC Source When Applicable

Expected outcome: A verified AC source is available. If changing to a known-good outlet restores operation, the issue is external to the pump.
5. Check Connector Seating
Inspect the pump's accessible external power connection and ensure the approved accessory connects fully without excessive looseness or force. Do not pry, bend, or reshape contacts.
Expected outcome: The connection is secure and stable. If correct seating restores recognition, troubleshooting can stop after functional verification.
6. Substitute a Known-Good Approved Accessory
