1. Protect the Patient and Stop Scanning
If Lumify reports an overtemperature condition or automatically stops scanning, remove the transducer from patient contact and discontinue use.
Do not attempt to override the warning or immediately resume repeated scanning.

2. Confirm the Exact Thermal Condition
Record the exact warning or observed behavior and determine whether scanning stopped automatically, the transducer felt unusually warm, or the message occurred immediately after connection.

3. Inspect the Transducer
Inspect the transducer housing, acoustic surface, cable, and connector for cracks, contamination, fluid intrusion, discoloration, or other damage.

5. Review Cleaning and Covering Conditions
Verify that the transducer was cleaned and prepared using approved methods and that no inappropriate covering, wrapping, or material was trapping heat.

6. Allow a Normal Cool-Down Period
Leave the transducer disconnected or idle until it returns to normal temperature.
Do not use forced cooling methods that could damage the transducer.

7. Inspect and Reseat the Connection
Once the transducer is cool, inspect the USB connector and mobile device port and reconnect it securely.
Launch Lumify and confirm normal recognition.
Expected outcome: The transducer is recognized without an immediate thermal warning. An immediate recurring warning after cool-down suggests a service-level problem.
8. Perform a Controlled Nonpatient Test
Use an approved phantom or other nonpatient test target and operate the system under normal conditions while observing for recurrence.

Expected outcome: The system scans normally without excessive heating or thermal interruption. If the warning does not recur and the original cause was clearly environmental, proceed to final verification.
9. Compare With Known-Good Equipment

Before return to service, confirm stable imaging over an appropriate test period without abnormal heating or recurring warnings. Respecting protective shutdown behavior is part of proper troubleshooting.
