1. Protect the Patient and Stop Unreliable Scanning
If the transducer disconnects during patient scanning, discontinue use of the affected setup and move the examination to another verified system.
Repeated reconnection during an active procedure should not substitute for reliable operation.
Expected outcome: Patient care no longer depends on an intermittent USB connection.
2. Confirm the Failure Pattern
Determine whether the connection is physically loose, disconnects with normal movement, fails only at certain cable positions, or has visible damage.

3. Inspect the Transducer USB Connector

6. Reconnect Without Cable Stress

8. Check Connection Stability During Normal Movement
With the system off the patient, perform a test scan and move the cable only through normal operating positions.

9. Verify Full System Operation
After any corrective action, confirm the Lumify application recognizes the transducer, scanning remains stable, and no connection interruption occurs through normal handling.

10. Escalate Mechanical Connection Damage
If physical looseness, repeated disconnection, or connector damage remains, stop troubleshooting and remove the affected component from service.

If the Problem Persists
External connection causes have been evaluated. Remaining possibilities include internal cable damage, failure within the transducer connector assembly, mobile device port damage, or another hardware interface fault.
Remove the affected transducer or mobile device from service, label it Out of Service, and send it for repair or bench evaluation. Use appropriate Philips documentation and approved test equipment. Do not perform internal connector repair or deep disassembly unless specifically authorized and qualified.
Return to service only after the connection remains secure during normal handling and full imaging operation has been verified. Stopping use of an intermittent connector before total failure is appropriate troubleshooting.
