1. Identify the Device

5. Cleaning Condition Check

Action: Inspect the pump exterior, Pump Set loading area, valve pocket, rotor area, vents, handle area, and power cord for soil or formula residue.

Clean only according to the manual and facility policy:

Expected outcome: Pump is clean, dry, and free of residue that could interfere with loading, detection, or safe handling.

Remove from service if: Fluid entered the pump, the power cord was wetted, or a large spill occurred and the pump has not been properly serviced.

6. Door, Rotor, and Pump Set Loading Area Check

Action: Open the blue transparent door. Inspect the Pump Set loading area, valve pocket, MISTIC retainer pocket, rotor, and door closure. Load a Pump Set and confirm the pump detects the set correctly.

Expected outcome: Pump Set loads correctly, door closes properly, and pump recognizes the set.

Remove from service if: The Pump Set cannot be loaded securely, the pump does not recognize the set, the door is damaged, or recurring rotor / pump set dislodged errors occur.

7. Battery Condition Check

Action: Power the pump on and verify battery status. Confirm the battery charges when connected to A/C power. If battery operation is evaluated, confirm expected runtime per facility policy or department practice.
